The Brief History of Christmas - Tuesday 4th December

Acclaimed musicians GreenMatthews (with special guest Jude Rees of Pilgrims’ Way) present a festive romp through 600 years of Christmas music, songs and carols. Beginning in the Middle Ages and ending in the 20th century, ‘A Brief History of Christmas’ is a whistle-stop tour of the origins of our midwinter festivities. Featuring long-forgotten songs and tales as well as some familiar and well-loved carols, ‘A Brief History of Christmas‘ is a show guaranteed to delight the hearts of young and old.

The show takes in 600 years of music – featuring music and songs played on archaic instruments such as cittern, shawm and rauschpfeife, as well as more familiar instruments such as guitar, flute, oboe and accordion - all helped along by GreenMatthews‘ trademark wit and humour. ‘A Brief History of Christmas‘ is the perfect show for anyone looking to recapture the simple Yuletide delights of fellowship, laughter and good cheer.

Christmas Gothic: a dark celebration of Christmas - Monday 3rd December

CHRISTMAS: a time to remember the past, celebrate the present, and look to the future; a time of feasts and festivities; of holly and mistletoe; a time of visits and visitations. A time of ghosts. Come in from the cold and enter into the Christmas spirit as a dark and spectral woman tells haunting tales of the festive season, lighting a candle to the frailties of human nature and illuminating the cold and chilling depths of the bleak, wintry dark...

Following the international touring success that was Female Gothic, Dyad Productions resurrects a Victorian tradition by presenting three seasonal tales of terror to scintillate the gooseflesh for dark Christmas nights.

Charity Appeals

Charity__Xmas_Enfield_Carers.jpg
Enfield Carers Centre

Many young carers will be facing a cold, hungry Christmas with little or no gifts coming their way. We are reaching out to see if anyone may have an unwrapped gift they would be willing to give to this young individuals who care for family members or friends. The gifts will be given out at a special you carers Christmas party on the 19th December.

http://www.enfieldcarers.org/

In 2017 together we aimed to support the most vulnerable in our society by providing food and toys to families and individuals over the Christmas period.

Christmas 2017 was a very successful project, delivering to over 70 families in the North London area. The charities provided, along with kind donations, food parcels and toys for children and their families.

Our Christmas Toy Appeal has launched for 2018! We are hoping we can be bigger and better then last year!
