Who we are: Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice provides care and support for babies, children and young people who have life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Delivering ‘Hospice-at-Home’ services across five north and central London boroughs, as well as Hertsmere, our nurses, carers, therapists and trained volunteers enable these children to live life as fully as possible and to achieve their aspirations. We also support families during their child’s life and help them face the future with hope after the death of their child and throughout bereavement. Where we’re at Noah’s Ark currently supports over 160 children who are seriously unwell, 230 of their siblings and 350 of their parents/guardians. Services include: • Specialist care: clinical care and emotional support • Creative therapies: music, drama and play therapy • Family Activity Days: helping to tackle isolation • Sibling support: activities focused on the needs of children with a seriously unwell sibling • Home support volunteers: practical help for children and their families • Bereavement support: for families following the death of their child Where we’re going We are significantly expanding our Hospice-at-Home services by growing our Care Team and ultimately supporting more children and families. By 2020 we project that we will be supporting over 450 babies, children and young people who are seriously unwell, 800 of their siblings and 900 of their parents/guardians. In addition, through our Building the Ark Appeal, we are raising the funds to construct ‘The Ark’, a specialist children’s hospice facility. Fundraising is well under way and we plan to open in early 2019. The Ark will be set on a 7.5 acre nature reserve in Barnet and will be a home from-home for children who are seriously unwell, where they will be given the time and space to be children and not just patients. It will provide an inspiring space for relaxation, adventure and for Children and their families to connect with others facing similar challenges.
