Writer and founder of the celebrated Jhalak Prize, Sunny Singh hosts an interactive evening celebrating all things Bollywood. Inspired by her book of the same name, A Bollywood State of Mind takes you on a sonic journey down memory lane, all the way to present day in celebration of the biggest cinema industry in the world.
Spinning tracks all night is British-South Asian music legend DJ Ritu.

Sunny Singh is a London-based writer and academic. She is the founder of the celebrated Jhalak Prize. She is the author of six critically acclaimed books including the novel Hotel Arcadia, a study of Amitabh Bachchan for the British Film Institute (that the star himself commended for being well researched) and A Bollywood State of Mind. Her next book, Refuge: Stories of War (and Love)will be published in August 2025.
DJ Ritu is an international turntablist, former BBC Radio presenter, and host/producer of iconic global music show, 'A World in London' at Mixcloud and Resonance 104.4FM. In the '90s, she co-founded Outcaste Records, signing acts like Nitin Sawhney and Badmarsh & Shri. Ritu has toured in over 35 countries, performing at major festivals/venues such as Glastonbury, Boiler Room, Jazz Café, Boxpark, Ministry of Sound, WOMAD, and Roskilde. Her radio program residencies were at BBC London, Kiss 100, World Service, National Swedish Radio. Ritu’s diverse repertoire includes Soul, Disco, Motown, House, and various dance music styles. In 2023 Ritu was awarded an MBE for services to music and broadcasting.
Cook Eat Joy is an Indian cookery school founded and run by Ela Teague, a former teacher turned entrepreneur. Ela embarked on a flavourful journey to share her love for the food of her Gujarati heritage as well as regional Indian cuisine. Cook Eat Joy is based in Enfield and offers 1:1 and group classes and specially curated workshops that aim to teach students the skills to prepare their own Indian dishes at home. Ela also hosts pop ups, supper clubs and Thali Nights.
Ela has been celebrated as one of the UK’s most impressive female entrepreneurs by f:Entrepreneur as part of their #ialso100 campaign.
