Barnet and Southgate College are a highly successful Further Education college with around 16,000 students of all ages from 16 years upwards. POST TITLE: Main Grade Lecturers- Subject specialists for students with SEND in a supported learning campus within Barnet and Southgate College. POST REFERENCE: Supported Learning LEC-001 SALARY: MGL Salary Scale Point 7 to 12- £33,460-£44,146 per annum inclusive of Outer London Weighting. HOURS: 1FTE (35hrs) and 0.8FTE (28 hrs) per week, 52 weeks per year. LOCATION:The posts will be based at our Southgate campus although the post holders may be required to work at the other main College sites. CLOSING DATE: 11th March 2024 noon INTERVIEW DATE: Week commencing 18th March 2024 We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and experienced teachers who are passionate about SEND teaching and learning. Some of our students have a range of complex physical, sensory and learning needs with huge capacity and eagerness to learn and develop their skills and fulfil their ambitions. Successful candidate will join our inspirational and creative team in our Supported Learning Centre at our Southgate Campus. Experience of working with young people with severe and moderate learning difficulties is desirable but we welcome applications from teachers who wish to develop their skills in SEND. Applications from newly qualified teachers will be welcome. We have a full time and a part time post available. We are keen to recruit highly passionate teachers with specialisms that could support our developing and evolving curriculum offer for young people. A desire to work with young people with a range of SEND needs is essential. Applicants should be able to demonstrate how to adapt lessons to suit a range of learning needs. For all positions, successful candidates will be expected to teach a range of subjects and programmes across the subject spectrums. Excellent administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team are essential for all roles. You will hold a hold a relevant degree qualification (or equivalent) and must possess a recognised Level 5/6 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or display a willingness to work towards achieving this.
